Mud nailed it: Bootcamp.
If buying XP or Vista isn't an option use Wine, but not thru winebottler. You might have to reinvigorate those "coding" skills.
I'm not on a Mac, but wine-1.3.18 + a patch for the mouselook issue has AO running flawlessly for me.

Re: I think I had a problem ...
imho, "inability" is never a positive, especially those "other games" that dont provide data in XML format which allows you to use 3rd party tools to easily account your inventory into simple tools like spreadsheets.

Re: Windows!
Maybe offtopic, but AO might run fine on your mac if you can get Wine working.
Download the source for wine-1.3.18, apply one quick patch (which fixes mouse input), then compile.

Re: Application - Kron
Bump due to updating my original post... If I only cared enough to triple log at minimum 2 paid accounts, then I could be "uber" too. If not I could sit around begging for help all the time. Neither of those sound too appealing to me. I guess that's why I suck at this game. New engine FTW!!

Re: Servers available but can't log on ?
Kinda late, but I heard Ric Romero reported that the servers are back up. The RL doc actually told me to try some whiskey+lemon juice+honey (aka a hot-totty) for the pain at night. Good ol' country docs ;) Its worked good enough that I've been actually able to make some descent progress with my gimp...

Re: Servers available but can't log on ?
I just tried too. Same error. I wish I could tag along for the s7 raid, but earlier today I found out that the excruciating pain in my back turns out to be pneumonia in my left lung. The doc has me doped and quite frankly I feel too bad to do anything besides crawl back in bed and sleep some more no...

Re: Application - Kron
Hey Kron and welcome. I'm sure you'll fit in nicely. I'm the same way when it comes to AO, altruistic. I have more fun helping others and new players; more so than I do grinding or pvp'ing. Currently I'm trying to amass a squadron of fr00b buffwhores and dungeon "twinks" to do just that (t...

Re: Advice for a small cost-effective fr00b subway twink.
FP:MP is still a bit out of my league at the moment (thenano skills to cast, i dont have quite that much at this level, but I'm close), still its all fun even sans meatballs. Got a bigger gun on today, tho its still not anything special. Also got into some higher armor and also grabbed 4 ncu rings f...

Re: Advice for a small cost-effective fr00b subway twink.
Thanks you both Noobas and Beneficial. Those are some mighty nice rings :D The ice-breaker went on easily. The little fella is no where near where I want him, but so far he makes very quick work of most of the mobs. Even without some of the more uber-items he'll be a nice escort for all the small to...

Re: Advice for a small cost-effective fr00b subway twink.
Thanks Fisty. We'll definitely team up soon. Today i got to level 10 (I wanted him a little higher in level but trying to level in the subway got to me after about 3 levels, and I said 'screw it, level 10 it is'. I got all my imps in except one. Sookie loaned me those uber-rings Noobas mentioned. Th...

Re: Advice for a small cost-effective fr00b subway twink.
Thanks Noobas. Your reply is what I was hoping this thread could bring to light. That ring = do want. Never heard of it, and I'm sure it's as expensive as all (like poly pillows). My toons get by with being functionally retarded (I always have that INT hole - and they aren't even atrox), that ring w...

Re: Advice for a small cost-effective fr00b subway twink.
Got a little trader to lvl 17 with level 60 imps. For those shiny weapons I wanted, they'd all require some hefty OSBs to keep them out of OE - never fun begging for buffs. So... So lets see how creating an agent goes. No "twinking" just a bit of imp-laddering to get a decent yatamutchy, c...
