Auno and how to use it

Post by Elrojo »

In my previous guide to levelling I refer to making sure you create an account at www.auno.org I will now show you why this is important.

Using Auno

Auno is a very good guide to help you work out how to plan your profession. For example you can click on the nano formulas per profession. This can show you which nano skills are essential, which are good and which never to raise. Click on your profession's nanos. Each nano class is shown then each nano is listed (99% are organised highest to lowest). There is a table style format that shows the nano skill and the requirement. You can quickly scroll down and see which nano skills dont have requirements listed, these are nano skills to avoid. You may also notice that the top level nano for a partcular profession may not require you to "max" your skill.

If you click on the link for a nano it will show you more information such as cast times, duration, nano cost, etc. And check comments that may direct you to how you obtain the nano, or feedback on the effectiveness. (check dates though as some can be outdated).

Symbiants listings. Click on this link and then your profession and it will display a list of symbiants your profession can use. Sorted by location (eye, ear, head etc) and then lowest QL to highest. This can also help you plan your profession.

Items search

You can try 2 different ways. Click on Item database and either type in the name, eg. Combined commando and then it will display all items. obviously the more specific you are in your search the less you will find.

Arguably the most valuable search is searching via an items properties. For example if you are a fixer and you want to search for an item that may buff your SMG skill. Rather than typing in the item name you would refine your search using the fields below. In this case I would select Breed "at least (my breed here)"
Profession "at least fixer"
Faction "at least (insert faction)

under "Arbitrary conditions"
Change requires to "effects" in the next field chose "SMG", then replace "any" with >= (greater than or equal to) and in the next field type the number. E.g 5 then click Add. This will add the field in the window below. Then click "search"

This should bring up the results http://auno.org/ao/db.php?cmd=search&re ... &eff114=g4

If you want to exclude items such as nanos then you can go back and change the parameters. in type i would change it to "wearable item" and hit search. In this window you will also see options like "non implant" "nano formula" etc.

Search this forum for the twinking list chris posted.

I suggest using this function to either search for items to boost abilities/weapon skills/nano skills etc to twink on better items. Or to find items to wear to improve your chacters performance. Such as higher HP or more evades.

Making set ups

This is where you must register/login. On the left then you will see the link "Equipment Config" taking you here http://auno.org/ao/equip.php You can then edit each section (WEapons/Clothing/Implants) to input what you want. You can use this for 3 things.
1) putting in your current set up, to show people/ask for help
2) putting in your desired set up (for reference or to ask for advice)
3) working out how much extra you can boost a skill/attribute by for the purpose of twinking
eg. I want to know how much treatment I can get.

http://auno.org/ao/equip.php?saveid=-11 is the Auno preset one. You will notice below the picture is the stats this config produces. This one gives 102.

if i add in this http://auno.org/ao/equip.php?saveid=185245 its now 202.

You can quickly see that you can now test out/build set ups to save and refer back to later.

http://auno.org/ao/equip.php?saveid=145331 for example is (iirc) the set up I used to get my alpha brain in crat. It is helpful as you can load in perks and it calculates the trickle effect from increasing other skills like intelligence.
