Non-pistol endgame weapons

Post by Rulzern »

Just thought I'd make a list of what the "best" weapons of each type that are possible to get on are at endgame, along with some comments:

SMG:
OFAB Hawk MK5 QL300 + Kyr'ozch Machine Pistol - Type 5 QL300

Shotgun:
Greed of the Xan

Assault Rifle:
OFAB Shark MK6 QL ~250

Bow:
Chaos of the Xan
OFAB Tiger MK6 QL ~275

Ranged Energy
Dreadloch Rapier
Dreadloch Trasher

Rifle

Heavy weapons
Massive Bolt Charger

Grenade
Dreadloch Obliterator

1 Hand Blunt
Abandonment of the Xan

2 Hand Blunt
Gluttony of the Xan

1 Hand Edged
OFAB Mongoose MK6 QL275

2 Hand Edged
OFAB Wolf MK6 QL275

Melee Energy
Dusk of the Xan

Piercing
OFAB Viper MK6 QL~250

Martial Arts:
Dreadloch Shen Sticks

Comments:
Just about all these options are worse than pistols, the exception being (perhaps) bow/rifle for PvP, and maybe certain setups using more exotic weapons for DD, perhaps in a few patches when it's possible to equip the Envy/Rhat'ata and some other Xan weapons they will become more viable.

Depends a bit on what you want. If you're a bored doc looking for pure DD then the Shen Sticks will do more than pistols if you give each an unlimited budget. But if you want more utility to teams then pistols will do close enough damage to make them the better choice.

Sad but true, Docs used to be viable in nearly anything. Then we were very viable in 4-5 configs. Now it is 3 configs, only one of which is flexible enough for all situations.
