When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.

Originally, Yalms and all vehicules were supposed to have dimensions that would be consistent with the size of people, and , thus, much bigger than they are now.Alphacenta wrote:

The yalms that are hard-coded in the landscape such as the one in Tir or the one near the villa of an OmniTech executive in Lush Lields have the REAL size that was planned.
But it appeared quite fast that, due to the (relatively) limited size of cities, too many big vehicules would look like a mess and they were downsized.
Also, the characters were supposed to be smaller. This is why the doors of most buildings are so small compared to the size of most characters.
This is also why, upon its first release, the Cryop of Home ceiling was too log for tall characters with essence running... because the dungeon was (for a part) designed at the beginning of AO and sized in accordance with the first dimensions of the characters.
Want to know something else? Why the trade departments are so big and with a lounge or bar in the stores? Because they were supposed to be tradeskilling markets and a bit like stock exchange places where a lot of people would meet in. Not to mention... a place where people would have players stores (virtual stores: only a few terminals but each one usable by hundreds of sellers).
