NEW RULES FOR SELLING INSIDE AP
=================================================================
We had a problem with our old no-sale rules. This is why.
In the past, when our no-sale rule was made, before SL, we only had there kinds of items:
-regular ones that could be found in missions or with some farming outside -a few exceptional ones dropping from Uniques most of the time, many being nodrop -a few extremely rare random drops, mostly Grid Armor nanos
We could ask a member to give a regular item to another member as it was easy to compensate.
Because rare "tradeable" items were only a few, we could also compensate those ones, and anyhow, if they had to be sold, it was no more than one or two sales a month.
But now we are facing a LOT of items that are whether rare or, even if not rare, long to get and expensive (symbiants for instance). We can't compensate all those items; that's just too many of them.
Our no-sale rules leads to a situation where:
-AP member A needs an item that is not exceptional -AP member B is selling this item because he needs money -A can't buy from B -Person C, not in AP, buys the item .... stupid.
So here are the proposed changes.
SELLING AND TRADING ITEMS BETWEEN PALADINS
- Services or help between Paladins can NEVER be sold or tipped for.
- The items that can be sold/traded for others between Paladins are:
. Items with a market price of 10M* or higher, considered “expensive” items. (For those sales/trades, you have to ask for the assistance of an officer; see below)
. Items that are less expensive but are rare or hard to find; this includes symbiants
. Any item a Paladin is expressly offering for sale to the public in his store, on the shopping channels, on AO market forums
All those items can of course be given for free -or loaned/borrowed- between Paladins, but the owner of the item has always the right to sell it or keep it.
- It is recommended that Paladins just give to each other the items that are not listed above, but the owner of an item has always the right to keep it.
- If the owner refuse the sale/loan, no begging or harassing
- No unfair profit must be made by the seller or the buyer in a sale or a trade between Paladins.
- Prices can’t be higher than regular market prices.
- If the seller agrees on selling to the buyer at a reduced price that is fair, if not that is ok. No begging or harassing.
- If you see a Paladin is going to buy (or trade for) an item that is not really good for him, or that a Paladin is going to sell (or trade) an item he’d better keep, you have to inform him of this fact, prior to the sale/trade.
- NO offers, requests, or discussions about sales or trades between Paladins on org chat once you know who your seller is. If you don’t know, you’re allowed to ask on org chat or to post on our forums in the” General AP-private messages” forum. No spam allowed.
- In sales above 10M (this price may change if necessary), the seller and the buyer has to inform an officer and ask for his agreement. The officer makes sure both parties are aware of the value of the item, that the price is not higher than market prices, and that the trade is fair. If the officer sees a problem, or calls off the deal for any reason, the seller or the buyer can ask Org Management for a second chance (this is not encouraged) but any answer given at this point will be final. No begging or harassing.
- In all sales or trades between Paladins, you can require the help and assistance of an officer if you feel you need that help.
- The Org will not buy items from members for members.
* The price of 10M in these rules can be modified by Org Management if necessary, depending on the changes in AO. If so, an announcement will be made online and on our forums.
(Note the following section was already in our rules but couldn't be restored when our old forums were lost)
WHEN A PALADIN HELPS ANOTHER TO MAKE BUSINESS OUTSIDE THE ORG
If a Paladin requires the help from another in the final purpose of making business outside the org (making cash, trading an item, etc.), he has to inform the other Paladin of this specific goal prior to anything.
It is highly recommended to share a part of the cash with the Paladin who helped, or to give him something, depending on the importance of the help you got.
You can require the help and assistance of an officer if you feel you need that help.
This is the only exception where services or help between Paladins can be remunerated.
NOTE: if some Paladins work together in the purpose of selling an item inside the Org to another Paladin (or of trading for another item), an officer MUST be informed of the operation and give his agreement.
