Notum Wars Enhancements

How will the new massive attacks like air strikes and orbital bombardments work?

Players will have to place a homing beacon on the battlefield. The an org officer will be able to see that location on a special new GUI available in org Headquarters that will list the location of all current beacons the org has placed.

The officer will then be able to trigger the strike.

Wont opponents just avoid the beacon?

Opposing players wont be able to see the beacon on the ground

Will the strikes effect NPCs?

No, only players will be effected by the massive strikes

Can we call a strike down anywhere?

No, a strike may only be called down in an active land control area.

Will players be able to see the strikes?

Oh yes! You wont miss these effects! These are quite impressive effects that will be visible from far away. In fact to appreciate the true scope of these attacks those with good distance from the strike point will probably appreciate the visuals better then those getting blown to pieces!

Will there be limits to how often these can be used?

Yes for sure! They are very powerful attacks and there will be cool down period after their use when players are unable to launch another strike. This value will be tweaked as we progress with the beta.

Are there new notum wars towers?

Yes, there is a new SAM battery tower that can be built that will have an innate chance to prevent an air strike if one is called down.

How do the new stationary turrets work?

These work just like a mech except that they can’t move! They are called in exactly the same manner as a mech and the player effectively becomes the turret. The same rules apply to summoning these turrets as apply to mechs: No skill requirements but can only be called once every five minutes.

How many types of stationary turrets are there?

There is one turret that excels at anti-personnel fire and one that is designed to be anti vehicular.
