I read that Means said he will be exploring the possibility of viable VP farming outside of BS and LE mish.
I had some ideas that might also help with the "support" professions also.
1) Split BS into 3 different experience levels, could be voluntary (honour system), or based on the number of BS you have done so far (<150, 150-300, 300+).
- I think it takes about 150-200 BS to farm the VP you need for essentials, but after 150 you should have enough knowledge of the profession, how to PvP moderately well and some basic strategy so you move up a bracket. Anyone who has done more than 300 BS is generally only in it for the PvP.
- It splits the mentality of the players up more effectively, n00bs dont just get wtf ganked by vets and vets dont get pi$$ed that noobies arent PvPing but just ninja capping.
- when i'm farming VP i'm more than happy to win a round and never kill anyone, but then i see people who stand near caps and never it them as it doesnt interest them at all.
2) Have arenas for different scenarios other than run and cap. It can then streamline people's strategy, rather than half doing one thing and half doing another.
- Possible ideas:
- Time based protect the flag
team based arena where the team that holds the flag the longest wins. Flag holder cannot attack, but flag adds +100 AAD, +250 NR, +150RS & 20% reflect. So teams need to protect flag holder and other teams need to work out a way to isolate and kill flag holder, but also keep other from gettign the flag. Can have 3-4 teams per arena
ADVANTAGES: Support groups can can root, debuff, heal, outrun etc have a use as its not all about toe-to-toe fighting. Encourages Profession specific knowledge, adaptability and strategy.
- Headquarters/protect the tower (Raid interface best, 12 players per side max).
Tower spawns in a location inside arena. Tower then modifies AOE +100AAD/AAO, +100 DMG, to all team/RI members on the defence team. Other team tries to kill players and take tower, they have a maximum 20 mins to kill team controlling the tower. Killed players from the team that holds tower cannot re-enter arena for a specified time or until tower has been destroyed (which ever occurs first). VP are awarded to a team for successfully defending for time limit or VP awarded to zerg force if they can kill team. Both teams have one attack and one defence per scenario Can be org v org not necessarily Clan v Omni.
Advantages: Good practice for Tower wars and good NW for orgs without towers!, again allows support groups to have a more recognised role. Encourages more lowbie twinks as inter-org tourneys can be held
PvM team based arena
Players have a number of towers to protect in a mish style layout. Mobs will spawn from several fixed spots. Players have a certain time frame in which to protect as many towers as possible. The more towers saved after time limit the more VP awarded.
Advantages: less PvP for PvM based toons/players. Less need for large numbers of players to be online, can be run with a team of 6. Introduces strategy, fixers/crats can hunt down mobs to root before they can get to towers and zerg force kills mobs systematically. More lowbie VP friendly as you can gather a "mish" style crowd to blitz some faster VP than LE mish in a non LE mish style format.
Just a few ideas anyway. But i think if some support based profs can be more useful, by giving some alternatives to just toe-to-toe fighting they will have a PvP style outlet more suited to their profession.

The only thing that needs to be tailored in CTF is the 20% reflect (and AAD and ...) as it will totally OP some profs as flag bearer. For example a Zset MP, could reach 80% permanent reflect in ALL stats with that, 87% with reflect bracers, more with other reflect thingies, along with 5 blockers every 30s, and some 4k++ def rating.. and in case of nanomage a 5k absorb.
