Tired, need a three days break

Post by Chrisax »

You probably noticed that I couldn't stay online a lot (although like 3 hours) every day during the last three weeks. Let's admit it: I'm tired due to RL and simply can't get back all the sleep I need.

More annoying, this prevents me from doing many things for AP; several things are late although I want them done; I haven't replied yet to several suggestions made by AP members or officers, and and I realize that I just don't do what I should online every day.

Sorry for that. :(

This is why I think it's better for me to take a three days break and 'recover' instead of just showing up online for three hours but actually do little.

So I'll just log on a moment tonight, and then I'll take a three days break online only; I'll be of course here on the forums and hopefully doing or preparing several things for AP.

I'll be back on Saturday.

I agree with Boomer, dont stress about us m8. You do alot for AP & no 1 is going to call you a slacker if you need a rest!!! If the do I will personall rob a bank so I can buy planetickets to go KneeCap them 8)

*Hugs*

Chris if you need anything done by myself I can also try fit stuff into my schedule. AP however is a well oiled machine thanks to you, so no need to stress.

Thanks all. :D

I need I guess one more day. Finally I went to see a doc and had some analysis performed. It looks like I had a huge huge vitamin D deficiency, down to the dramatic level of some starving population, for reasons not yet know.

Well Chris as discussed perhaps it is stressed related or lack of regular sleep. Maybe Rojo will have some insight into it. Could be hereditary. Not enough Sunlight?

I read an article the othe day about the amount of Sunlight people get in regards to sleeping in the day concerning shift workers & how it can affect your brainwaves etc. Has to do with Melatonin levels & im sure sunlight has something to do with Vitamin D.

Doctor Grind's orders..... Take leave, take a vacation, go play in the sun!!!!!

Call me in the morning 8)

yeah. UV+cholesterol=vitamin D.

So, load up on some omega 3's, eat some nice salmon and oily fish, and take your shirt off when you're walking to the park.

use sunscreen for best results.

Got a first 100,000 units of Vitamin D. Something so strong that you usually don't get another for one, two, or three months... we'll see.

Hmmmm... now I have a little pink nose, long furry white ears and I'm jumping everywhere... is it a normal effect?

I heard this story on NPR yesterday and thought of you Chris. Regardless I guess it is better to listen to the doctors than what you hear on the radio.

So, now you know: I am more a NPR person than a Rush Limbaugh person.

Feel better. Id rather see AP disbanded that your health suffer.

And neither of these options are going to happen!

By the way, we miss you, Bredin. :D

Hey boss,

Ya Vitamin D deficiency is not all that good (suprise). Not sure from your reference about starving population causing it though? Perhaps a background family history you are referring to??

Vitamin D is only attainable from the sun and some diet. Depending on the time of day, your skin's natural tone, your fat % (fat soluble), amount of sunscreen you do(or dont) use and where you are in the world, your required level of sun can vary. You can also supplement Vitamin D in very attainable (low) amount 1000 IU in over-the-counter preparations. Sounds like they are giving you a bolus dose to get you up to speed. Generally (depending on med history) its about 50,000 to 100,000 every 1-2 weeks for 6 weeks, then around 50,000 IU/month or 20,000 per week. These are available in Australia from compounding pharmacies in capsule form. not sure about where ever you are.

The thing to be careful of is your bodies ability to metabolise oral Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) to the active form. So they will want to check your 25(OH) Vitamin D.

Clinical manifestations of Vit D Deficiency (important to note Vit D deficiency does not cause, but are associated with the following)

Firstly Vit D is essential for bone health, persistently low Vit D can cause Ricketts.
Low Vitamin D can contribute to hypertension, heart disease, depression, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

Good luck with treatment and make sure the check your serum calcium and Vitamin D.
