Wot's the use of 'aving an artful dodger if all da burton goes down at the rubba'

Translate that and we'll know your proper East End :)

I'd give that lodger a whisper in his bottle if he's spending lady godiva's in the rub on gay and frisky, and no mistake :)

[edit] I'm not East End tho, my father in law was a proper cockney, gawd bless him, and growing up just north of London you pick a lot of it up at school etc

Whats the use of having an (artful dodger) 'lodger' if all of the (burton on trent) 'rent' gets drunk at the (rub-a-dub) 'pub' - so you were pretty close :)

yeah, I suggested you whisper in his ear if he's spending all his fivers (ie rent) on whisky in the pub :)
