No add-ons (Firefox remains the best for add-ons)

Needs to be set specifically (like all Win10) to protect your privacy, and even like that it's still questionable

Way less settings and customization possibilities than Firefox and Chrome. (Chrome needs specific attention regarding privacy issues too.)

No specific advantage over existing browsers really except it loads very fast... what does it change as you likely launch your browser only once a day, or each time you switch your computer on, or so. But, OK, loads faster.

Minimal interface that you may dislike or maybe like if you do very simple things only. But it can be really painful.

Better than IE... which was not very hard.

A recent test about security in browsers puts Edge first but it's is very questionable when you look at how the test was conducted. That said, security is not specifically an issue with Edge.

Firefox in the 64 bits version.
Download page for all versions here here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
I'm not saying it must be everyone's choice, just that it's highly customizable with a gigantic library of add-ons, and it is not designed to send info about what you are doing on the web (unlike MS' Edge and Google's Chrome if not both configured properly).

My personal preference order would be
Firefox (64 bits version on Win 7 or 10)
Chrome with some serious work on privacy before using it
Opera... I haven't looked at the lest versions so I'm unsure how it stands now
Edge (after proper privacy settings) but Edge is actively being enhanced by MS, so wait and see.

Nevertheless, Chrome currently is the most used browser BUT that's because it is extremely easily available on all Android mobile devices and smartphones. (Microsoft doesn't make browsers for Android, and Firefox entered this market late, and doesn't have the visibility of Google's browser, nor are all its add-ons working on android.)

For what it is worth, here is a chart of browsers market shares (to be taken cautiously)
https://clicky.com/marketshare/global/web-browsers/

(Note: Safari is Apple's)

Because I said that?! Where? LOL. I said it's is "it is extremely easily available" not that it is "installed by default on all devices". It is very easy to find and comes first on any search you can make... even on MS' Bing. (And still... installed on many devices.)

Sure, if you can't read, you certainly need an easy browser.

Luv you :)

As a webmaster, i/we let IE go out of the radar since years (nearly a decade tbh).
Then Spartan was about to pop, now we're on Edge but the use rate is so low ...
Idk about its compatibility issues yet, nor of specific hacks in coding to make it work.
Sure thing, like for IE, unless customer pays a bonus, will /ignore it for now :)

As a web developer I "use" all the major browsers but I simply cannot move away from Chrome as my primary browser for everything I do. There's just too many things Chrome does right for me personally and I simply cannot live without my bookmarks/history/passwords auto-synchronizing across all my PCs and devices under my GSuite account.

Opera isn't really the old Opera anymore, it's just another webkit fork with a lot of customization. Vivaldi is the new browser by the core ex-Opera guys, has some nice features.
