We are going to modify and upgrade the whole system of servers used for our hosting in the next 24 hours.
This will allow us to do even much more things in a near future, and also to host Alliance forums.
STEPS:
1) The first step is a change server-side.
Effects:
- It will cause a downtime of some hours; so we can rebuild the sites.
As some IP addresses will change, it will take between a few hours and 24 hours before your ISP can reconnect you correctly to our site (the time for the DNS -Domain name Servers- information to be propagated over the Internet.)
During this time, you may be connected randomly to the old or new servers. You’ll find a message informing you of what is happening.
The forums will be closed, except one forum for urgent and temporary messages.
- Nothing at all. Don’t change anything on your side, like for example your favorites. Everything will work correctly when the new system is up and running and the DNS propagation is over.
- Nothing special at that step. The forums will work and look as usual. The Alliance forum will be up though.
2) Forums upgrade (days later):
- Effects: this will cause a new short downtime.
- Nothing at all again.
- New forums, with a new layout and more functions. Everything better.
3) New features:
- Days after again, new features will be progressively introduced for both AP and the Clans, including Alliance of course.
A message on this forum will announce the beginning of the downtime.
