Changing my ISP - Downtime at an unknown date

Post by Chrisax »

I'm changing my connection to the Internet. (I wanted to do this for a while.) This will cause a downtime for me at an unknown date, and likely without me being able to tell you just before.

If I'm lucky, it can be one or two days. If I'm unlucky, it can be several days. Of course, I'll manage to log on our forums to keep in touch during this time but I probably won't be able to play.

Sorry this comes just after my few days away due to me being sick and when I just returned. Just bad timing.

well after such an absence we would ask that you re-apply. Probably just a short 2-3 month probation period until we are happy that you will fit in. until then Noobs and I will run the org

Gah downtime tonight so I couldn't log on. In the very next days, the real downtime should occur so I could be offline again.

I summarized. There is some work to do on hardware for my connection, not just a switch.

OK, techies should be on my line soon so I'll probably have the downtime somewhere in the next 48 hours. (The reason why it is relatively complicated is because I didn't have a very fast Internet at home and the line itself was quite old, so the line is being reconstructed.)

OK installing and testing my new stuff now, so I won't be online a lot tonight.

Cavey: yes, you're right, and do even better, when I'm in Paris, I'll enjoy the new systems my brother got from www.free.fr "Only" 24Mb/s (till he can get optical fiber at 100Mb/s) but a bunch of features that put Virgin and all UK's ISP to shame for 29.99 euros/month. Now I just need someone to implement 50Mb/s worldwide WiFi for when I travel, and all we'll be fine!
