I'm nearly back ingame atm, but my ubuntu refuses to patch further. a friend send me 3 patches allready but I still need 17.9.3-17.10.0 and 17.10.0-17.10.1 anymore...yes, I have tried the patcher switch, I am in Wine, I won't run Windows under Ubuntu, and Exe's don't work (incase you were gonna suggest that)

Before updating individual packages via Synaptic,therefore, it is probably a good idea to save yourself some time by first checking for available updates via the System Update panel applet.

To perform the update, make sure that Synaptic and GNOME App Install are both closed (you just can’t run two APT front ends at the same time, as I told you), click the System Update panel applet, type your password when prompted for it, and press the Continue button. A Software Updates window will then appear.

Upgrading packages en masse via the System Update panel applet In that window, a list of all of the available updates will appear. You can scroll through that list and uncheck the box for any application you don’t want to upgrade, but if you don’t really know what you’re doing, you had better just leave it as is. Either way, once you’re ready, click the Install

Updates button, after which the updates will be downloaded and installed, with the same windows you saw in Synaptic and GNOME App Install showing you the progress of the process. Once the installation is complete, you will be notified in a separate window. Click Close in that window, and then do the same in the Software Updates window. Depending on what you installed, another small window may appear telling you that you will have to restart your system in order for changes to take effect. If so, it is best to be obedient and reboot.


Not sure if this will help. Dunno whether you use Gnome or Synaptic.

You going to level your fixer a bit? or leave him around 100? if you can get fgrid team, I'm sure you would be a great benefit to the (read any) org.

well, hes level 134 atm, havent done fgrid quest yet caus I really really really hate omni specialists when im on my clan toons :p

as for the ubuntu problem...I got it halway running in wine, but I removed wine and instaled cedega. Now im atm patching my game, I hope I dont have to do the patcher switch :-/

I hope this will work and I will be able to acces database (I couldn't in wine)

Make sure you've got the latest video card drivers installed too. Using the old patcher should solve some.

Keep in mind you FIRST run Anarchy.exe, THEN replace AnarchyPatcher.exe, and LAST you click the Patch button in Anarchy.exe which will cause it to start the old patcher.

Also allowing it to write to your AO install folder should go a long way in getting it alive; it kept on refusing me the right to make/edit Prefs.
