Kirtise Application

Post by Kirtise »

Hi everyone !

I've just started playing AO and I would like to join your guild because i think the game would seem more funny with a guild.
For now, I have a Fixer which is level 9.
In real life, I am a french man who is 18 years old, by the way, sorry whether i do a few mistakes by writing the english, don't hesitate to make me notice them :).

See you soon !

Hello Kirtise, it's nice to welcome a real totally new player on our forums. :D

We are glad to welcome and support new people as long they are ready to learn and progress, and work by themselves also.

We briefly chatted online (I was leading a long raid at that time, sorry)

S'il y a un quelconque problème avec l'anglais, il suffit de poster / me parler en français; je le parle couramment. :)
(If there is any problem with English, just post / talk to me in French; I can speak French fluently.)

While your application is running with us, I would recommend you level to level 20 or so (it's not long), to see if you like AO, have a better view on the game, and just show you're committed. :)

We will meet you online and we'll have a small interview with you (that's one of the reasons it would be good if you leveled, to better understand some parts of our discussions, no technical questions though in the interview)

Could also you read our Code of Conduct and also org Chat recommendations already? Please confirm. :) Also, feel free to join our guest channel too:
to do this, in the game, you can contact any AP member or officer, and tell him/her you posted and application and ask for a guest channel invite. You'll find usually APs at the Vanguards big building ramp near Old Athen grid.

To contact our officers, here are some names among many others:

Boomersooner / Iwojima / Bloodstripe / Reconsniper
Grind42 / Bobdc
Tommypinetti / tommytanker
Chrisax / Mekanos
Jetson / noobasknight / noobastank / rodog
Elrojo / Hermesconrad / Eltankjoo / Elnukej00

Welcome kirtise,

You said you were a newbie to AO, have you played any other MMORPG? Sometimes this helps with general etiquette, though AO is unto itself in some respects.

Are you a paid player or are you free to play? Also before you go too far I would suggest looking at the type of character you want to roll and why. Currently there are 4 very good professions and then the rest when it comes to raiding later on. Those would be a doctor, bureaucrat, enforcer or soldier. If you are interested in any of those this will greatly improve your chances of finding and making teams as you go. Also when these are up to scratch you can then use them to help gear up your other characters.

However, if you don't like the looks of those, fixers are nice to help buff other people with increased evades, run speed, NCU, heals over time (HoTs) and also the ability to cast a buff that allows easier travel. BUT, often you will be trying to form a team and be short either a doctor or an enforcer.

All of the above just an FYI really.

AO can be a super complex game so don't be afraid to ask for help. Also look at these forums when you can as plenty of people have done plenty of work to write guides, information and other very handy things. It's very encouraged that you look up things and know where to find information and then run that by us when you need a hand.

Best of luck in AO, and with your application.

Hi,

Thanks you for your welcome :).
I'm level 22 now and the game is more and more interesting, the complexity is in a way rather appealing.

To answer Elrojo, yes I played World of Warcraft for 5 years, so it's not my first MMO but i have to admit AO is very different compared to others MMORPG and i think it's that which is very interesting because nowadays, all the MMO are the same and eventually, there isn't originality anymore.

For now, I'm Froob, but I'll pay when I know a little bit more the game.
I've chosen Fixer because I like its mobility, after i plan to make a few rolls because eventually, all the classes are interesting :).

See you soon !

Hi again Kirtise. Nice to see your approach of AO and the reasons why you like it. :)

Grats also on your leveling. Now it's not necessary to go too fast, learn the game and your profession. :)

I tried to contact you yesterday but couldn't'. I had a very hectic day and although I stays more then two hours online (when I was supposed to just be there ten minutes), I couldn't cath you. We will meet hopefully today. :)
