Application - Kixus
Hello, I am a returning player. I started playing AO back in the early 2000's. I took a break for a few years and returned to play in SL beta. I played as an Enforcer main named Kohus level 220. I was in the org Mercury Dragons until 2011. Currently I am looking for an org to level up with and eventually raid. I am currently a level 100 Engineer named Kixus. I plan to be 220 asap, Im just held up a bit by not knowing anyone anymore to group with and the inability to buy most SL nanos with no key. I live in the US and am most active from 3pm-2am CST or 8am-9pm GMT. those times do very, often I am on later. Hope to hear from you soon, thanks!
Re: Application - Kixus
Hello Kixus, welcome on AP forums and also welcome back again in AO..
I remember the org Mercury Dragons but I don't have specific memories of its members.
It's a good thing though that you hit 220 in the past, so you have a idea of the path to top level, even if things changed a lot. We wouldn't advise to rush for 220, though, so you can take some time to appreciate what AO has to offer (new and old), and learn your profession well.
The positive point is that you focus on one character mostly, because having one top or very high level helps immensely with leveling alts.
Also, doing the key quests (Scheol's one is painful, granted) provides you not only with convenient keys and the ability to buy nanos but also with a nice amount of XP. AP organizes Inferno key quests for members by the way, as it can't be soloed. The Penumbra garden key can be soloed but at a higher level than the normal "Penumbra level" due to the last step (and much higher level for sanctuary key soloing), so it's basically Nascence to Adonis included, and pen garden.
Regarding you time zone, it's not the best for AO population but if you play at what is basically 8-9PM GMT, you're all fine to join raids and be in the core zone zone of activities. Most of our scheduled raids start around 7:30PM GMT (19:30). We also do our best to have non-scheduled raids and activities deeper in the night GMT.
So, now, let's get back to your application. The first thing to do is now is to read our Code of Conduct and org chat recommendations that you can find there and tell us if you agree with them:
You can usually find AP members at the big Vanguards building ramp near OA grid terminal.
If you can’t find a member you can self invite by typing /tell Bobsan !join
This is a temporary invite, so you'll have to do it each time you want to be on guest chat.
Once on guest chat, feel free to ask for an officer and introduce yourself, and also ask for help with any questions you may have about your application.
At some point soon, after you've spent some time with us, an officer will contact you for a brief interview. As our officers can be busy with raids and other duties, it may take a moment to contact you. Always feel free to tell an officer that you are there.
Some of the officers you can contact for help with questions or concerns are:
Suffugio / Contritum (aka "Fuze") GMT-5
Whattawap / Sirwappy GMT-5
Codeish / Codemanforce / Shacode GMT+1
Proeliis / Crazi / Crazidoctor / Epok / Hornblower / Stokken (General) GMT +1
Cheribomber / Cherib / Jacythna / Officegrrl GMT +12
Bonniedoom / Betadoom / Amagosa / Whapperz (General) GMT -5
Falcondoct/ Falconcrat /Falconsold / Falconenf GMT -5
Chrisax (President and org Founder) GMT
Bitnykk / Enginyk / Healnyk / Kynecrat GMT +2
Carequinha /Toughcrat / Toughenf / Reapermann (General) (in memoriam beloved Paladin and Officer)
