Woot.

My best guess atm is that Direct3 or your graph drivers doesnt work properly, check that out first. If you can that is.

Looking at it with some food in me.
Now my best guess is that AO-client is really crappily coded and they made some routines for loading dll:s and prolly when its not found it returns the handle 0 and no failsafe when trying to call it.

Secondly isnt that an awful big amount of data in stack?

try to reïnstall :? this looks like the client didnt make registry keys
and it could be possible that you moved the dir to nother place or renamed it
(only a guess)

Three things to try first of all clear your prefs directory (after you back it up)
and see if the client works, there was a chain crashing bug not so long ago linked to that.

Second update your VGA drivers and reinstall directx 9c.

Do you encounter any other problems, playing other directx/opengl games ?

If you do, check temperature in BIOS (hardware monitoring) and see if all your coolers work correctly.
There is a subsytem in the vga drivers that shows temperature for GPU, check that out.

I really hope the motherboard vga supports directx/opengl or you wont be able to play any game but solitaire.

Looks like a memory issue, try running Memtest86+

Download file and intall to a floppy, Instructions & Information you will need to run the test for atleast a few hours

this thread explains in much greater detail then I could why you see this error and what can be done about it.
