Hards v Easy for 220 researh

I was doing some quick calcs in my head at work for what would be the best way to do 220 research lvl 9 and 10. since thats what i'm up to. As far as i can tell lvl 9 research caps at 37K SK and lvl 10 at 45K sk. So its safe to assume only the reward will cap the research.

So is it better to do easies or hards? I know that you waste more reward for a hard since the reward is about 160K. For easy you still cap cos you get about 80-90k.

But i think the amount of SK you get per mob in hards for the total mish is much better than the total for an Easy. If i do a hard i get around 240-300k SK all up. About 1-1.5k per mob for about 60 odd mobs is about on average 80K Sk plus then the reward of 160. If crat is in team i get more obviously. So if done well i can get about 125K SK in a hard that goes towards the research. If i get a good team i can do hard in about 40-50 mins.

Easy i get much less SK per mob and i feel the ratio of Mob/Reward is much more geared towards reward. So i normally get about 130K from an easy with 80-90 being the reward. So my total SK going to research would be about 95K to reward. An easy normally takes 30-40 mins.

SO to wrap it all up i'd need say 900K/125K = 7ish mish in hards at about 5 hrs worth OR
900K/95K = 9.5 mish at about 5 hrs worth.... OMG about the same time #-o

What do you guys think? I often find an easy can take just as long as a hard as you may have lowbies/dual logged players and generally in hards the ppl are more DD conscious and you tend to kill a mob in a comparable time to an easy mob.

Whenever possible I stick to Hard missions.

I've been doing mostly hard missions on my fixer since he hit 210/56 and with Research on 100% I am to the point where I only need 1 more "9" and 3 more "10"s to be done with research. And I'm 218.25, so I should finish research at about the same time that I hit 220 (since 210-217 is approx the same SK as 218-220 if I remember correctly and I'm more than 1/2 done on my 9 and 10 lines). Some people don't research until 220, but you end up losing out on rewards in Hard missions. In that case Easy missions aren't so bad since you can go quick and most profs can do easy missions @ 220 without a doc. But I like seeing both Research and SK go up progressively together. It is a personal preference.

Some people like to do Easy missions and keep Research at 0% for mobs and then slide it up for rewards. But that requires more memory than I seem to have since I often forget to slide it on the reward.

Alot of people do Easy missions because it is, well, easy to team gimpy players, lowbs and to have teams with no docs ... as well as because some people have no attention span ... but I usually can find a hard mission on LFT if I am willing to pass on an easy mission team and wait a bit longer. Just don't do it when YOU are the lowb gimpy toon. Do it at 210+ once you've gotten decent gear on.


PS. Not all research is created equal. Some profs can entirely skip lines and never care or not care much. Others like my Fixer want them all to be done eventually. Again, it's all a matter of preference.

PPS. Don't forget your Inferno Quests ... those most toons can solo except for the final encounter of each ... and they provide enough SK to ding. So you can be doing those little quest missions while LFT and still get SK for your time.

I prefer doing hards.

Hard = 320k total, 160-ish k from mobs (so ~200k SK total for research)
Easy = 130k total, 40k-ish from mobs (so ~80k total for research)

You also have to keep in mind that the time you spend on a single mission doesn't start when you enter the mish door, and stop when you exit the mish door, if you spend 20 minutes getting a team, then 20 minutes doing 1 mish before the team breaks up, you just spent 40 minutes on that one mish.

You also have to remember that hards tend to attract better teams, so you might end up doing hards just as fast as you would do easies in a crappy team.

The best way is push shift+f and see what ppl u got there, if u can get a full team with great DD go for hards its much better...
But be aware, ive teamed with 220MA that made same dmg that 174lvl enforcer...
And its true it takes time to run to mish and out the mish but it still takes time to sit at garden waiting for enaught ppl for hard mish or invite to a team that has great DD...
And to get a invite to hard mish team u have to do great DD or be a doc...
