Logged on, tried to play... new install just doesn't work with AO. Terrible lag, like 3 fps. Went to help orgmates with Vortexx, had to play by instinct. Trying to fold back to an older driver but who knows... even XP is not the same anymore.. Microsoft's miracles.

I got nothing great, just had to fix a series of disasters due to massive reinstall. I still hope I'll be able to afford a big new system in a few months.

At the moment, I went back to an ATI 1650 (!!!) and Catalyst driver 9.2 and AO works OK now, better than with an ATI 48xx and the appropriate driver. No use to say the only reason to use a 1650 is AO...

I hope the new engine will solve all that, so I can get something like a 5850 (offering DirectX 11) or more in a few months (or whatever NVidia or ATI will release in the meantime).

So what have we learned today? People don't do Windows 7 it's bad for j00 :P

Waiting a while before upgrading to that one, me Vista works fine as it is.

I ve been using 7.0 on a hp touch screen for about 2 weeks.
It works pretty darn good. The multi-touch technology is not
bad.

Given a choice of Vista or 7 I would use both for different reasons.

But for those of you that have access to multi-touch machines with 7.0
check it out its pretty neat.Nowhere near an Iphone glass surface but not
bad.
