Free 2 weeks ... ends on 7/20 or 7/31?

Chris, any idea on the following? No answer from FC support.

Just need to know if I need to activate it and grab the jetpack tomorrow, but lose most of my 14 days (I'm moving my grandparents across the country) ... or wait until 7/31?

The email they sent said you needed to activate the offer by 7/20 ... but the account page says 7/31. I'd rather activate and lose the days just to grab the jetpack, but I'd play some if I could reactivate a week later.

I can't guarantee anything and the devs I could try to ask are not there ATM. (Not sure anyhow they know precisely what marketing is doing.)

Nevertheless, to my knowledge, all recent offers end on July 31, like the Heckler of Celebration fun pet. I re-checked on my account page and the heckler (if I renewed for 6 months or one year now) ends on July 31. FWIW. I don't have the jetpack offer, probably because my accounts are active.

I went to an old inactive paid account of mine (I don't have the email anymore so I received nothing) and I saw this:

You have a time-limited offer to upgrade your account with 30 days of free game time. After the 14 days, if you continue playing you will also recieve a bonus of 30 days gametime with the first purchase of any gametime. Also if you buy 6 or 12 months of gametime before 31st July 2011 you will get a free Heckler celebration pet!

Are you sure the 31 July jetpack deadline you see on your page is just for coming back and not for buying extra time?

If so, I think it should be safe to wait until the 31st (better the 30 though due to time zones) and have a screenshot of the page at hand. I guess that, in the case there was an issue, Customer service would help and enforce what the account page said. They are clearly more open than in the past. (But the page is likely coded for the 31st anyhow.) It wouldn't be the first time an offer lasts on purpose somewhat longer than what an email stated.

You probably wrote something too sophisticated for the average service-level-1 Joe.
(With all due respect to level 1 support people as some are excellent or do all they can.)

Send another email with the ticket number in the email object (essential) and ask the simple question.

I got another reply, it ends 7/20, so I'll go ahead and take them up on it and lose most of the time to travel. Wouldn't have mattered WHEN I took it before 7/27, I've had one of those summers

(wish they were giving me any further confidence but seems like even now they can't get their official ducks in a row for something as simple as getting the right date on their account pages ... or re-read their support email twice before seeing the question marks)

Thanks. I popped on tonight just to make sure I snagged the jetpacks on all my toons before they take it out of the item store. I mean, yeah, they'll probably leave it for weeks or even months ... but I didn't want to risk it.

I'm traveling through next Tuesday, with a friend visiting Weds/Thurs, so I probably won't be on much except maybe the following weekend (7/30, 7/31). Such is life.

Life's been pretty doggone busy (in the last year I've gotten married again, moved back to Colorado, had my sister's family move in with us, and am about to spend the week moving my grandparents from Arizona to Oklahoma ... and none of that counts life at work where we've been going through layoffs and I've had 3 bosses in 9 months).

I got 30days free by doing the following

Logged in to Old inactive paid account in order to try and strip it.
Saw I had the offer on my account page. If that offer is not there then you cannot take advantage of the free offer. I know this as it only appeared on one of my old accounts, not all of them. I sent email to support and they confirmed that for me.

Deleted my old Pay by Credit Card information

Changed pay options to Pay By Cash via Bank Deposit

Upraded account and it gave me 30 days free without paying a cent. I think the 14 days is encouraging you to make a pay or nopay during that time.

Anyway, thats what I did. I also have 4 keys for 30 days free full upgraded time for NEW Accounts. So you will need a new email account for that. I dont know if they also track IP addresses but there are a few ways to get around that which I dont bother with and know nothing about. If you want one of those keys let me know and I'll send you a message.
