Hello fellow players...

Post by Aadomus »

I have been out of the game for roughly 3 years, I had several 220's like a doc, advy and a crat. I stopped playing (like many have) thinking that AO was going to go under...surprisingly it has not, AO has hung on. What brought me back is the news of the engine and rebalance that is just around the corner and about to go to test-server, but first FC needs to fix several bugs.

I played on RK1 and was always a Clanner, never did care too much for Omni cities...too depressing. When I was about to quit the game, I gave all my stuff away and then said my fairwell to AO and deleted my toons, thinking I would never turn back...boy do I regret that now.

Anyway, during my time in RK1, I heard alot about Athen Paladins and how well respected the org was/is...I think I may have checked out AP's forums once before, but it was .com and not .org.

After reading the rules and CoC (and agreeing to abide by them) of Athen Paladins...I feel this org could be the home that I'm looking for and am hereby putting in my application to join. :)

Hi there Aadomus

Thanks for your interest in AP.

All applications must go through a similar process to help make sure that the person applying will fit nicely in AP, and they know what they are getting themselves into (not anything bad, of course, but AP has a few more rules than other orgs).

To expedite the application process, there are 5 steps you can follow and these will move you along out of application phase and into the org:

1. Get registered on forums (done)
2. Read the Code of Conduct and voice your agreement/differences (done)
3. Read the language rules and voice your agreement/differences (done)

These three you can do outside of game, but the next two much be done in game:

4. Find an AP and get an invite to the chat relay. This will help you start getting integrated, and hopefully join some teams and get involved with org activities.
Once you're in bot, you can look around for an officer and politely request an interview, when they have time.

5. Once you've had an interview, then the only thing to do is get an introduction with Chris, and an invite!

If you can't find an AP for a bot/chat invite, please try to send a tell or two to any of these officers and we'll try to get you in to the chat relay as soon as possible:

Anonfx
Iwojima / Bloodstripe / Infiltrate
Grind42 / Bobdc
Carpdiem / Furymaster
Maycrat / Mayhemdealer / Havendoc
Besaidbuster
Tommypinetti / tommysoldja
Chrisax / Mekanos
Jetson / noobasknight
Eltankjoo

We'll see you in game!

Thank you for the prompt response...already joined guest chat, which is what made me fill out an app for AP. Was doing some window shopping of other orgs and none really fit what I was looking for, so I did the /tell bobsan-!invite for AP :)

Hi Aadomus and welcome to our forums.

I saw you on guest chat last night and quickly welcomed you, as I was leading a raid, and then asked Boomer (Bloodstripe) to talk with you when he logged on. And this brought you there eventually. :)

You indeed had the uncommon idea to log on guest channel to "examine" the org before posting any application. It seems you did the same with other orgs. We were surprised but it demonstrate, at least, that you really want to choose the "right" org for you and not just "get in". This is the purpose of our application process: make as sure as possible that our org and the new applicant are a good choice for each other. So, fine.

You main step now, as listed above, will be an interview with an officer. We will have it as soon as possible.

Can you please specify your time zone and roughly your online times so we know whne we can catch you? :)

Good luck with your application.

Hello there Aadomus!

I've just recently logged back into AO after a while, didn't catch you online in guest chat earlier. If you have not yet talked with an officer & still wish to join us, good luck! If you are already with us, welcome to the family :)
