Hello,
Returning player here (a cursory glance at the last few applications tells me there's a decent chunk of people coming back). It's been probably 15-16 years or so since I last played. Had the itch last night to put a pet on /hunt and watch it go to work.
Currently level 32 Engineer, and first time playing clan. I was originally a neutral only player, but it seems that the neutral cities have become a huge credit sink and I was really struggling to get off the ground paying 10k per QL20 implant lol. Won't lie, I was never the best player and was not super knowledgeable about the game, but I'm still keen on learning.
Anyways, I'd really appreciate the opportunity to join Athen Paladins, y'all are one of the few org names I remember from back when I used to play, and everyone I've ever met from here has always been nice and helpful.
I'm froob and planning on staying that way, hopefully that's not a hindrance to being accepted. Will still do what I can to get my character leveled and at a spot where I can help low levels get what they need/help join teams to farm items.
Regardless of whether or not you all will have me, I hope you guys have a great time and continue your legacy.
P.S. - Fully agree to your code of conduct.
Thanks,
Huntexe

Re: Huntexe Application
Hello Huntexe and welcome.
Sorry for the delay to reply to your application.
Yes, you are right, we see several people coming back after a long, long time! It has always been the case but it's quite remarkable et the moment.
For many, the unique community and atmosphere of AO are a major reason.
And if you join us, we will help you your struggle with implants and more.
That said, I'm surprised you mentioned using /pet hunt because this command was removed a long while ago.
Anyhow, let's go practical now, with your next steps, and, first, thanks for reading and agreeing with our code of conduct.

Re: Huntexe Application
Thank you very much for the reply! It is crazy to me to see how active these forums are to this day. Speaks to how much of an actual family AP is.
I didn't know they removed the hunt command, now my name feels out of place haha. I never actually played a pet class myself before (I was an MA originally) but my friend had an engineer and when he taught me about rolling missions and using the mission key duplicator and whatnot he'd take me along with him and we'd sit at the entrance while his pet did all the work. We'd just chat about life, figure out what we wanted to do next in the game, etc. - all while just passively watching the xp bar go up xD. I guess now I'll actually have to learn how to play engineer - which isn't bad because I my friend was always rolling in credits from blood plasma and other tradeskills, so it'll be good to learn that part of the game a bit.
Also, I have rolled a fixer as well "huntquick" - after some consideration and talking to folks in game. Seems like blitzing nanos might be a good way to make myself some money to get started up again.
Thank you again for reaching back out, hopefully I bring the right qualities to the table, and I look forward to speaking with you all more
