Bug reporting, GM's, Surveys, etc

Post by Chrisax »

Bug reporting and feedback

Please keep in mind that this is a Beta. There will be missing and incomplete content and features as well as technical issues, some more serious than others. And we want to receive both general feedback and bugs from our Beta testers.

Bug reporting is done by using the tool that’s built into the client, and this tool is accessed by pressing Ctrl+B. The bug report will automatically provide us with your character's name and other pertinent information such as location, but it absolutely could not hurt to be as thorough as possible and include all information you can think of in your bug report anyway. More info is always better than less info!

Alternately, you may report bugs on this forum under the appropriate sections. Please keep in mind that the forums are constantly being read all day long. If you have a very critical issue to report, a report on the forum may give us a slightly faster response time than a bug reported via the ingame tool.

Please make sure to report any bug you find in the game, regardless of severity. Don't take it for granted that the bug has already been reported. We would prefer one bug report too many than too few.

Surveys

We have implemented an in-game survey on most missions. These surveys will provide us with valuable feedback on your experience while playing the game. In addition, we will be sending out a survey at the end of each Beta phase that you can use to provide us with your feedback on your overall experience for this Beta phase.

GM assistance on the beta server

Please be aware that there are no Customer Support GMs on the beta server, nor are there full-time GMs of any kind. Please do not ask a GM for assistance on the beta server and expect a response. Developers and Quality Assurance staff are of course occasionally on the beta server performing tests, or looking for feedback. We absolutely cannot guarantee any assistance in the form of GM support from these GMs. From time to time in the past a Dev or QA tester may have answered a desperate plea for help but unfortunately time constraints dictate that we simply cannot put our work aside to assist every stuck character.

Please keep this in mind as we move forwards in the beta testing phases. The /stuck command or your Agartha conduit may work to unstick your character from many places. However, your character may get permanently stuck or otherwise become unplayable. This is unfortunately part of the nature of a beta test. We encourage you to report any gamestopping issues and then roll a new character to begin testing again while we investigate your report. Thanks for understanding!

Also note, although there are no full-time GMs supporting the beta server, you are still expected to adhere to the NDA/EULA while playing. Please use common sense and be considerate of other testers on the server just as you would be on the forum. Remember to avoid arguing, flaming, trolling, harassment, and ranting of any sort. Remain constructive and considerate. Reports of testers exhibiting bad behavior usually find their way to us, and your character or account may be suspended if you are a repeat offender.

Spoilers

Several missions in the game have a "puzzle" element to them. Please be courteous towards other testers and remember that some of them may not want to see the answer to any puzzles in public chat channels such as /say, and prefer to figure things out at their own pace. Consider using private tell messages to other players if you have a question about a clue or are stumped and would like some guidance/spoilers from another tester. If you feel a mission is way too difficult to figure out with the clues provided, we definitely need to know that as feedback so please remember to post about it on the forum!
