WoW life was good for a while - I joined Iroz's powerguild and spent 7 nights a week raiding. Was fun, but too time consuming. Eventually that guild fell apart (leader quit, many followed, you know the routine). Now most ppl are suffering the pre-expansion lull as people wait for the January expansion pack. So lately I've been kicking back and relaxing, logging into WoW every now and then.

Kitz is doing great, and by the way, I made an honest woman out of her earlier this year as we got married

We bought a new house a couple of months ago too (expensive year). She's doing the whole pvp grind in WoW, should hit Grand Marshal this week I imagine.

Sad that AO hasnt really changed since I've been gone. So much potential, terrific user population, but piss-poor development staff. I wish the WoW community had the AO community

Iroz, or Jix as we now call him, left WoW a few months ago. He got a new job with longer hours, and his dad got very sick, so no time for WoW. I still talk to him from time to time.

Should have seen this guild I was in on WoW. Very strong, end game focused (#2 guild on the server), but the people in it were complete asshats. Of about 100 regular people in the guild, I would consider maybe, 6 of them friends. When the guild folded, I was actually kinda relieved.

End game in WoW is much different than AO. Much more time consuming. Some of the dungeons take upwards of 12 hours to complete. So you have to spread it out across several days. What kills you is that there are 4 of these gigantic dungeons, so to complete all 4 in a week (dungeons are reset each week), means a lot of raiding. I was basically raiding from 9pm till 2am every day of the week. In between those time, I was farming materials and money I would need for the raiding. So, as you can see, it's not for everyone

It's ok, I had a lot of fun while it lasted, so now I'm just getting back into all the things in WoW i used to do (questing!) and looking for the expansion.

So how's about AO? I hear the inferno quests are offerning sick amounts of SK. Is the 220 grind still horrific as it was? What about that new playfield? Haha it was interesting to see Funcom steal the battleground ideas from WoW for the LE pvp expansion. Hopefully Funcom can pull it off cause the battlegrounds in WoW are pretty cool (especially Alterac Valley).

It's a very complex game and almost everything you can interact with
has a unique response/description. The playerbase is around ~200 online
at any given time.

It's free and the playerbase is very mature.
