*blink* alot of things in there, not just fixes but real additions, as long as it doesn't break too many things this looks like a great patch.

It will be a very nice patch. 8)

You owe me this one (and maybe some others but I can't comment...), but that one was public enough.

It was in my TIR REBORN PROJECT, a proposal of October 2004.

It took months to implement my first idea (Tir mission machines giving missions of all levels again), more months to implement my second idea for a part (reintroduce the old Tir grid... but they did it as an entrance only) and finally 18 months to totally implement it....

The good thing is we talked of the Tir Reborn project again not long ago... so read the other proposals (public ones, and so, written in RP mode) I made and just pray...

...pray for more "less-public" things to be heard too... Znore *does* listen I already told some of you. But he is not the boss either.

The TIR REBORN PROJECT
(Proposals for discussion)

Following on the last CoT meeting on Rimor and Taoh's post, Nullion and myself had to join Taoh and work on this topic. The following is a first series of consistent proposals to make our capital alive again.

Before proposing any measure, let's face the reason why Tir turned into a dead city.

We all remember the time where all the Clanners seeking for adventure gathered together at the South Gate of the City, and even before that time, when we all gathered near the mission terminals.

Then the Shadowlands were discovered, and Tir was simply not on the path to SL, nor a convenient place to meet at. Tir was in fact off the path to anything.

If we want a reborn capital, then let's give reasons to Clanners to be in this city! Do not force them, give them reasons!

SOLUTIONS PROPOSED FOR DISCUSSION:

1) Missions terminals giving missions to all people of all levels again
This is a good measure we probably all support but in itself it will not bring people back to Tir, as there are many missions terminals all over Rubi-Ka

2) Move the grid terminal inside Tir
No comment; it should be obvious to everyone. Note that if Tir becomes crowded, the grid could me moved out again. But this measure won't make people come to Tir in itself.

3) Whompahs from the Organizations cities to the "hot" places of Tir
Why in hell should the clubs and bars of our capital be overlooked and ignored while the whompah building service offers portals to Omni-1 entertainment, Newland, and Last Ditch (Reet's)?!
Honorable Ladies of the Council, I can assure you that I am not a supporter of the female wrestling contests offered by some places in Tir (Taoh and Nullion aren't either)… This is only "business" and I'm sure Mr Jakobi will understand me!
Also, and off topic, being a Clanner born in West Athen, I'd like to see a whompah to The Cup… but this is another story.

4) A Shadowlands transit statue
How long shall we stand it?! We've been helping the Redeemed for more than one year now and we are still forced to travel -to them and from them- in an awkward way. Our agents confirm the Redeemed control great transportation technologies, whether it is theirs, or more likely inherited from the ancient Xan knowledge. What does this have to do with the Tir Reborn project, are you going to tell? Simple…
Let's ask for a transit statue our technicians would place inside Tir! And Tir could become a major gathering place for SL raiders! Tir reborn… old times of the South Gate back! At last!

Do not move the statue of Wailing Wastes as it is useful, ask the Redeemed for a new one or to tell us where we can find one.
I have no doubt that Omnis will get the same kind of device from the Unredeemed, by the way…
I'd like to go even further on this topic… we are almost sure the Redeemed could offer a way back from SL to this statue in Tir… Maybe by using those big white platforms we all saw in their gardens…

5) An Organization Cities Central Terminal
Currently our organizations cities are isolated and can be reached by the grid only by members. This doesn't help communication, commerce, and cooperation against Aliens invaders.
Tir could be equipped with a Grand Central Terminal, as special whompah (or Grid system), that offers the users a list of Org Cities and warps them to the place they pick up, possibly for a little fee. (Note the same thing could be implemented in the Grid, but wouldn't help with the rebirth of Tir)
Once again I'm sure Omnis will develop the same technology… maybe they are already doing it… do we want to be late?!

Now up to you all, Members of the Council, and fellow Clanners, to discuss the above suggestions, and add you own ones. :)

Just a quick note for people who might not realize it:

unless they're going to be posting a patch that didn't go up on Testlive, this isn't TODAY'S patch, its just a teaser from Sili to keep people happy during the upgrades.

No they won't. The 16.3 will be installed first on public test servers.

"to keep people happy" Hmm, what will it take to get a certain GM removed from the game? That would make me happy. ;D

It's a SL saving device in fact, just dropped on the gound. Walk to the center and you'll be saved like in SL.

Wow nice! Quite a few things I like in there!

The new skills screen looks excellent. I guess I'll have to start a new toon again since I probably won't be leveling Shexer anymore, and Sheckinator will progress through the Shadowlevels slowly.

For me, Multimonitor support is also very intriguing, as I use two monitors on my main gaming PC at home. Might be a bit strange as one is 17" and one is 21" but I'll try almost anything once :-)

Quests in Inferno might be a huge boon to me if any of them are directed to the solo player. I might have a chance to learn something about that zone finally.

Those are the big ones for me. I guess I'll have to log on in a bit and see how today's patch (or was it the DB upgrade) went.
