Gexx there is a forums post about the same thing, basically u have to close things off individually.
Cntrl 1-10 for Team windows etc
I for inventory.
I will check the AO forums post again & post the link. Chat windows you can close from your Friends window.

There are also a couple of threads requesting FC make a option for clean screenshots as F11 & F12 can be used to take screenies.
