Rubyzero reapplying
Hey dudes, mind if I get another chance at reapplying. You know, fresh server, fresh faces, how about a fresh chance too? Let me know what you think and we will take it from there.
Re: Rubyzero reapplying
Hi Ruby,
Welcome back to AP forums.
We're approaching your application with a similar attitude.
Can you give us a bit of detail as to why you're interested in AP, what you hope to get out of the org, and what you feel you would bring to the org?
Thanks!

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
Well, I dont know how in depth I should go if I am going to be met with the same disgruntlement and negative attitude towards me no matter what I say.
If anything I would like to know what people accuse me of. Not only that but I would like to know if it is genuine dislike because people's opinion of me could be that of someone told them that such and such player is bad without interacting with them and it spirals from there. Or they could have a legitimate reason but it stems from something that happened years ago and that was the only instance and they are still holding on to it.
The only thing that irks me about this whole process is this vilification of me without at least telling me the reasons. To me it sounds like the leaders or whatever are asked what they think of me and its, "no that guys a dick" and the votes tally to a no without a concrete basis or any inquiry about it through me.
It has essentially been a year since I last applied. Within that year have I committed such great crimes against AP and whoever that I am still such a bad guy?

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
mm,
read my post please.
I said we would be approaching your app with a fresh look - nobody is saying anything negative at this time, but there is a lack of background on your app that could serve you better if it were better populated.
Can you please tell us a bit about yourself, what you'd like to accomplish in AP, what you'd bring to the org, and what you'd like to get out of it?
cheers!

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
Hi Ruby,
Thanks for your application. Currently the officers and recruiting are discussing this application. I will say that in previous times some of the older members certainly did remember the FFA dramas that you seem to be referring to. Unfortunately, even when players may be young or not up with the normal MMO etiquette, they may still be sealing their fate based on negative tactics they employed. I'm sure in most occasions people were warned that this would place them on Ban lists or ignores etc.
Having said that the process seems to have moved past this phase with caution and has now focused more on general attitude and game play. The risk in AP and in all of AO at the moment is the population is very volatile. Just in the last few months we've seen increased moving around of players (not especially AP) seeking something post-merger. As well AP has seen some very good members leave due to unusual drama with a few people in our alliance or elsewhere. At this time this is something we can't afford to continue to happen.
While we continue to maintain a high level of organized activity, we are not able to continue to lose our experienced and capable members due to small dramas. The one positive that has come about is that no one has questioned your actual playing ability. All agree that under the RIGHT circumstances you may be good for AP.
If there is anything you would like to add to your application to support your case that would be great. Also if you can share some of your experiences in your most recent org that would also help. If you feel any info may be sensitive feel free to do so in a PM.
Thank you again for your application and I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
I appreciate the response Rojo. I know that having a large org brings with it different people, play styles and methods for doing things and not everyone may be comfortable with it. The things I want in an org is a good atmosphere. I want to be able to log on and not have a feeling of "I hope so and so isn't on because I dont like them" and the same goes for others as well. I dont want to put people in an uncomfortable atmosphere but I also dont want them to greet me with a negative attitude.
As far as my org history goes I have been in Lex Talionis and Haven. I left Lex because they recruited Doomcow to the org and after a week of telling them that he needs to be kicked etc they didn't so I left and joined Haven. I have been in Haven for more than a year and I really like it here. The people are great and helpful and they are active. The problem I am currently having with them was that they re-recruited Intake. Him and I have a history together and it isn't pretty. What I know about Intake is that he isn't a serious player, creates unnecessary drama and ebays. He joined the org on several froobs and when I logged on the other day he immediately started with the insults. After talking it over with the pres it seems he is going to stay.
To go more in depth of what I want in an org is pretty simple. I want to log on, do something with the org/something in general, have fun, teach a newb, learn something new and thats about it. I just want to have fun.

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
Thanks for the response Ruby.
Basically, most of the officers are approaching your app with a neutral attitude. I'm certainly aware of your capability, and some of the other more veteran officers are definitely clear on what you'd bring to the org in terms of a top level Enforcer, with strong game understanding etc.
Some newer officers seem to feel that there is some history, whether that is personal or passed on through as second hand drama (ie. I heard so and so had an issue and blah blah blah)... But I am hoping we can at least start with some inclusion in org chat and try to get you in on some raids/events or whatever. Realistically, these are processes that all recruits/applicants do anyways.
Good luck and hope to see you soon.

Re: Rubyzero reapplying
Hi Rubyzero.
Simply put, to clarify, at the moment, we are gathering facts and feelings (focusing on facts), "good" or "bad," as we do for any applicant, when it's possible. AO is a very old game, with a majority of "old" players and reputations are a very important thing. But recent history is important as well, positively or negatively.
It takes a moment as you have been in-game for long, and you history contains some hectic episodes, while your knowledge and technical playing capabilities are not a concern at all. You will, anyhow, be able to comment if necessary but maybe on a private space.
Elrojo explained some of our concerns in his post, so I will not re-explain them here.

I guess we will see how it goes.
