Hello! I have just returned to the game after over 8 years of absence. I opened this account in 2003, so I only played for a couple of years prior to my retirement. Some things are very familiar, others not so much (wtf happened to OA?). Needless to say, I am in a re-learning phase at the moment.
Your frequent guild events and raids are something I never had in AO. I was previously in Avatars Reloaded, and I honestly don't even remember our Pande/APF raids (though I know they happened...), so you'll have to bear with me on those. What I do remember is a good, mature group of friends that stuck together. I'm hoping to experience that again.
Full disclosure - Lost Eden and Legacy of Xan are a mystery to me. Hell, even most of Alien Invasion. At this moment, I have almost no clue what I'm doing, but I'm a fast learner.
I'm 28 years old IRL and have played MMOs for a decade (this was my first). I'm looking forward to meeting you all in-game!

Welcome to AP forums.
I'll outline the various steps of the application process to hopefully expedite your limbo period.
There's 5 steps basically:
1. Register on forums (check)
2. Read and agree/voice discontent of the Code of Conduct (http://www.athenpaladins.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=8)
3. Read the chat rules
These three you can just do on your own and the other two require you to be in game.
4. Ask for a chat invite (best method is to just holler on Clan OOC, and come visit our org hangout spot at the Vanguards ramp, just beside Old Athens Grid) Once you've joined I think you should be able to re-join at your leisure (/tell bobsan !invite) When you're in chat, be friendly and if you see people planning something, see if you can get involved. If you're just come back to game, it might be worth having an officer inspect you and see if there's any easy stuff we can help to improve your equipment or help you lay out a path to help you progress a bit more quickly.
5. Meet Chris and get invited!
If you don't get a response in Clan OOC, please try to send a tell or two to any of these officers and we'll try to get you integrated as time allows

I'm generally online between 6pm and 11pm Eastern time, sometimes earlier in the afternoon as well if work is slow.
