I subbed a month and got vacum sealed set on normal server.
Server is only planned to run for 1 year

ok, well that's a bit different. is the pack you got on the old server just usable by one character or all characters on that account?

Also, if it(s like AoC, the characters your create will be brought back to the normal server (and will create new free slots for them) when the New server closes.

Oh,... so I've set up 3 toons Ustarlen, Zanda and Ustar on the new server, but under my main AO FC account. How would that work to bring them back to an account with name duplicates and to an account that has no character slots left? Also does that mean I'm subbed or is the idea I should have set up a new AO account for the new server?

Pretty sure it was said that character from new server will not be moved to old server. If new server fails then its all gone.

I read somewhere, that the new items are claimable only on the new server? If so - your backpacks are 'safe' for now.

Yes they said that now in an incredibly blunt and senseless line... They are basically telling us that there is not incentive to play on the new server... Characters will be deleted, no huge rewards transferable to RK5 for some accomplishment on RK6 like there was in AoC, nothing except just playing a sort-of old, vintage AO.

If the server closes, what happens to my character?

If the server does end, characters do not carry over from RK2019 to the original server.
