18.4.02 TestLive Notes

- New slider to control the result level of a Tradeskill in the Tradeskill window. =D> =D> =D> OMGzor at last!

Item Store
  • First version of the Anarchy Online Item Store and preparation for the in-game browser added to the GUI.
    Do not buy anything please as these are test items and they will NOT be sent to your character.
    (There is also a known issue with client-crashing after clicking a drop-down box then immediately clicking the close button.)

Various
  • New input system: All keys should now be bindable/customizable. Find the "Binds" tab at the top of the F10 menu. (Multiple actions can be bound to one key...this is intentional.)
  • Now able to lock individual items in the Character Wear windows.
  • Nano Icons and NCU icons are now color coded to make it easier to tell what they are at a quick glance.
  • Icons should now be displayed at the correct resolution in the Programs window and on Shortcut bars.
  • Can no longer enable or equip to Social Tab in combat.
  • Should no longer get stuck in Walk-Mode after dying while walking and returning to a SL save area.
  • XP gained with XP gain disabled should now be added to XP pool.
  • Terminating now adds your XP to pool.
  • Backpacks looted from remains should now be usable as Backpacks. (ie: Robust Backpack)
  • The "You already have this Unique item" message should now include the name of the unique item.
  • Signet of the Apocalypse Rings/HHAB ring should once again protect against Pandemonium dot if you are in rez sickness.

Alien Daily Missions
  • The Artifact no longer has a chance of spawning in the Blazing Flames in the Salvage Alien Daily Mission
  • The Ammunition for the Give Ammo to Labbe Daily Mission should now respawn in random locations in vicinity of the crashed ship every 5-10 seconds


Personally I'm psyched about XP/SK going to pool with XP gains off finally coming in and the individual item locking option. In game browser could also be really nice, need to check this on test later. Finally hitting 18.4 is a nice touch, been in 18.3 for over a year now.

Well Phoenix posted just before me, so except a note about what will be sold in AO store and some colors, I have nothing more to say so I merged the threads. You can have a look at my post below, still.

Patch 18.4.c is arriving on Test server... You will LOVE many features!
Item Store

Very important note: items sold there are for social use or convenience. No "power" will be sold. In other words, no, you can't buy a BoC.

Could have just deleted mine, it's just copy pasted from the AO site anyhow.

Means responded in the one thread (click the "Items Store" heading in the original post) saying that the items shown in the items store on test now are just test items, not what they'll be selling. So we'll have to wait a while longer to see what exactly they intend on offering through that.

Yay! Selecting the desired QL for the TS works too. XP/SK to your pool from daily rewards doesn't though. At least not at lvl 200.

Currently all the in game browser shows is a big picture of a trox shrugging its shoulders in front of a mail terminal and a button with an "H" on it. So it's not too well developed yet.

Precisions:

- Of course you can only make possible QLs: you can't make QL 300 alien armor with QL 100 elements for example. You can in fact choose the QL within the range of possible QLs.

- Some items can't be set: a nanocrystal for example will always be the same, pre-set, QL.


About the browser:

- They won't implement it before more security testing. Opening web sites from inside the game is a potential huge security hole.

- They don't code (most of) it; they will use an existing product, adapted to AO.

Yep, tinkered with the TS window to make an implant. Once you pop the source and target items into their slots for a functional TS the QL slider adjusts to the possible range. Was able to move it all the way to the lowest value and make it with no QL bumping even though I had way more than enough still.

Then I made some Infused Yuttos NCU. Had a QL 200 base and it showed a range of QL 200-300. Was able to set and make them at QL 200 and QL 240 with no trouble. When I looked at the item in the result slot the info was wrong like how it is on live now though (shows the right end QL but the rest of the info is wrong).


As for the browser/shop window I was just telling people what's there now. Said I was going to do that after all.
